Not your typical suits-and-blueprints operation. We're a crew that actually cares about the spaces people live and work in.
Started back in 2011 when three of us couldn't stand seeing another cookie-cutter condo go up on Queen West. We figured Toronto deserved better - buildings that don't just stand there but actually contribute something meaningful to the neighborhood.
Here's the thing about architecture that most folks miss: it's not about making pretty pictures or winning awards (though we've snagged a few). It's about understanding how people actually use spaces. How morning light hits a kitchen counter. Where kids naturally want to play. How a lobby can make someone feel welcome instead of just passing through.
We've always been big on sustainability, way before it became the trendy thing to say. Not because we're trying to save the planet single-handedly, but because building things that last and use resources smartly just makes sense. Plus, our clients' energy bills thank us later.
The highlights, without all the boring corporate speak
Three architects walk into a bar... no seriously, that's how it started. We were complaining about the state of Toronto's architecture scene and decided to do something about it. Opened our first tiny office above a coffee shop on Queen West.
Landed a residential project in Rosedale that put us on the map. Client gave us creative freedom and we delivered something that got people talking. Local press picked it up, and suddenly our phones wouldn't stop ringing.
Became LEED certified and started focusing heavily on sustainable design. Not just slapping solar panels on roofs, but rethinking entire building systems. This changed everything about how we approach projects.
Moved to our current studio space, doubled our team size, and somehow won an OAA Design Excellence Award. Started taking on commercial projects and heritage restorations alongside residential work.
We're 14 years in and still loving what we do. Working on everything from laneway houses to multi-unit commercial spaces, always pushing for designs that make sense for the people using them and the environment around them.
The stuff we actually care about when designing
Buildings are for living in, not just looking at. We design around how real people actually use spaces, not some idealized version.
Not greenwashing, but actual thoughtful choices about materials, energy, and longevity. Stuff that makes practical sense.
Every neighborhood has its own vibe. We design things that fit in while still bringing something fresh to the table.
We use new tech and methods when they actually improve things, not just because they're trendy or look cool in renderings.
